A website can determine your sales. A website is like a physical shop that sells product. If you enter into the shop and the interior design is lousy, the sales person is not serving customers well, how would you feel? I guess you would feel very lousy and not most probably not buy anything at all.
Your website design is important. Your web page must not be too dark or dull, that will affect your potential customers' mood. A good sales copy is needed too, just like you need an online sales person to sell your products. A good sales copy is able to capture emotions and lead potential customers to purchase your product You must also include testimonials to boost your potential customers' confidence in your product. Also remember to include call to action where is applicable. Your main home page must have testimonial link, about us link and contact us link.

A hosting is where your domain name is hosted. You must find a good hosting. I had a bad experience I want to share. I had a hosting whose server was down for a while and I wasn't informed. I did not know until I went to my website and could not upload. I had Google Adwords, there were clicks, but people could not see my website and I had to pay money for the clicks. I would not reveal the hosting name, but I would recommend using Bluehost or Godaddy.
3) Customers
You need to build a list of customers. Mostly when people enter your website most likely they may not buy things. They may only want to gather information. So one of the best way to build customer list is have an opt-in.
4) Affiliates
In order to skyrocket your sales, you need others to affiliate your product. In this way your customer database will expand more each day without you wok on it.
5) Products
I would recommend selling program, software, Ebooks, anything that is not physical. This is the best. Customers can instantly download what they bought and you do not need to ship to them. This will attract buyers easily.
