How to Create Content That Converts

When it comes to online marketing, it’s all about attraction. Attraction starts with a clear strategy, your target audience, and content that gets you and your business noticed so that you can flip the sales funnel and have people find you!

When it comes to creating great content for conversion, it’s easy to get frustrated when trying to keep up with it all. In fact, it sometimes feels downright impossible.

Ever wonder how a busy coach, speaker, or author pulls off looking like a superstar on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and in Google organic search results? Very few do it by themselves, for long.

The truth is it’s almost impossible to produce enough meaningful, engaging content to stay visible enough online to attract and earn your fair share of new clients, readers, or events.  The good (well for you, anyway) news is that most business owners are still completely asleep at the wheel when it comes to great content for online marketing. I can tell in about five minutes of research if you or any of your competitors is in the game when it comes to being noticed, found and monetizing your content for online marketing.

The point here is if you feel like you’re late to the game, so what? Get on the bus now! It’s never too late for you to commit to learning and applying these proven disciplines for generating leads, building community and growing your client base.

Yes. It’s really about monetizing your marketing. So what if you have 15 billion friends or Likes. Does it really matter how many people are “following” you if your business isn’t growing and sustainable?

Online marketing works in every business. No exceptions. But in order to have a chance to compete online you need content!  Not just that, you need great content.  Great content pays. Especially when you have a system and a calendar and a plan so everyone on your team is working in alignment.

You and I and everyone else on the planet knows it when they see great content. This is true because great content engages your ideal prospect and audience.  Your content, when done well, attracts more leads, prospects and paying clients or customers to you and your business.

The bottom line is that writing all the eBooks, blog posts, reports, articles, emails, newsletters, websites, landing pages, sales pages, and so on requires the “3 T’s” …

  • Talent… you must deploy the talent you have in the right places. Talent is a natural gift, although it can be learned with enough practice and effort.  But, wouldn’t it make more sense to focus on things you’re actually good at doing?
  • Time… you normally can’t find enough of it to create all the content you need. Every business owner I know is short of time. So knock out what you can do alone even if it’s only LEADING your team when it comes to marketing, sales and content. Do your best knowing you can’t possibly do it all. Everyone can pick at least one social media platform, like Facebook, and do a decent job with very little time investment. But you can’t expect much in the way of results unless you show up well and consistently. It’s all about laser focus and doing what you can do on your own, well. Then delegate the rest which leads me to…
  • Team… you’re dead in the water without one. You need a team of creative people behind you. I do. So does every other business owner who wants to market their business in a way that results happen. You need writers who get your voice. You need people who can edit. You need people who can do video stuff. You need people who get strategy. You need analytics. You need someone who understands the analytics.

You need content that converts for online marketing. Commit what talent you have in the right place. Allocate time to where it is best invested based on your talent. And build a team, fast.
